Laurence Fishburne’s Cinema Gypsy Productions and Larenz Tate’s TateMen Entertainment team to produce AudioHQ’s First Scripted Audio Series “Policy Kings” to be written by Academy Award® nominee Josh Olson

Cinema Gypsy Productions and TateMen Entertainment have teamed up to produce the scripted audio series called POLICY KINGS. They have partnered with AudioHQ, an ad platform that connects brands with digital audio advertising inventory and creates integration opportunities across premium publishing partners. After the success of podcasts like SERIAL, AudioHQ has ventured to find compelling and unique audio content, and POLICY KINGS was chosen to be their first production.
POLICY KINGS, originally conceived by TateMen Entertainment, is a 10 episode audio drama written by Academy Award® nominee, Josh Olson (A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE). The series chronicles the lives of the players in Chicago’s “policy” numbers games of the 1940s and illuminates the self-sustaining African-American community of Bronzeville.  The project will air on a platform to be determined in the fall of 2016. Kc Wayland’s Wayland Productions will be handling physical production of the series.
Cinema Gypsy Productions is a motion picture and television production company founded in 2000 by award-winning actor, producer, writer and director and current President, Laurence Fishburne. He and his longtime manager and producing partner Helen Sugland have produced numerous nominated and award-winning projects including: Thurgood (HBO), Five Fingers (Lionsgate), Akeelah and the Bee (Lionsgate), Once in the Life (Lionsgate), Always Out Numbered (HBO), Hoodlum (United Artists), and Miss Evers Boys (HBO).  Currently they produce the ABC-TV hit series black-ish and are about to commence production on Madiba with their partners, Blue Ice Pictures and Out of Africa - a six-hour miniseries for BET Networks.
TateMen Entertainment, toplined by partners Larenz, Lahmard and LaRon Tate, is a growing multi-media company committed to offering quality content for film, television and digital platforms. Together the Tate brothers have amassed 25 years in the entertainment industry, solidifying key relationships with premier producers, executives, directors, writers and musicians. Their current slate of projects positions TateMen Entertainment as one of Hollywood’s most prolific emerging production companies. Most recently, they produced the
indie film Beta Test, which is currently in post-production, and wrapped principal photography on the feature film Deuces, alongside Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Productions.

Wayland Productions Inc. is a pioneer and the pre-eminent producer of independent serialized dramatic audio programming. Their series, “We’re Alive” has garnered over 45 million downloads, was “Best of iTunes” in 2012, and was nominated for an Audie by the Audio Publishers association.

AudioHQ entered the rapidly expanding digital audio advertising marketplace in 2014.  The company is focused on developing a premium and exclusive advertising platform that connects advertisers with digital audio advertising inventory and integration opportunities across a targeted line-up of publisher partners.  AudioHQ is the exclusive audio ad sales representative for many successful streaming audio services including TuneIn, 8tracks, Slacker In-Home, Jango and AccuRadio.  The company also has content creation and distribution partnership’s with Paradigm Talent Agency & John Tesh’s, IFYL Group.

The parties involved are all represented by Paradigm Talent Agency, which brokered the deal for the series under its Talent, Literary and Digital divisions, alongside attorneys Nina Shaw and Jeff Finkelstein (Cinema Gypsy Productions) and John Meigs, Jr. (TateMen Entertainment).
